Lindenmeyr Munroe Acquires Minnesota’s Independent Paper Group (IPG)

PURCHASE, New York, June 2, 2017 – Central National Gottesman Inc. (CNG), a leading sales and marketing organization in the global pulp, paper and forest products industry, announced today that its Lindenmeyr Munroe paper distribution division will acquire the business of St. Paul-based Independent Paper Group, LLC (IPG), further strengthening its sales and distribution presence in Minnesota.

IPG specializes in a wide range of paper products for the commercial printer, including digital, wide format and business imaging products. It is a division of Murnane Paper Company, headquartered in Elmhurst, IL.

“We believe we will continue to have many opportunities for Lindenmeyr Munroe to expand in the Midwest, both through organic growth and via acquisition,” said Andrew Wallach, CNG President and Chief Executive Officer. “We look forward to working with our new colleagues from IPG to help strengthen our position in the region.”

Lindenmeyr Munroe President Bill Meany added that the IPG acquisition underscores his company’s commitment to growth in Minnesota, home to a thriving commercial print community and a high concentration of wide format printers.

“Supporting commercial printers in Minnesota is very important to us,” said Meany. “Adding IPG aligns perfectly with our investment last year in a state-of-the art paper distribution and converting facility in Fridley to better serve our customers.”

Lindenmeyr Munroe is the largest privately held independent paper merchant in the U.S. and a leading distributor of quality commercial printing papers, business and communications papers and packaging products.

The transaction is expected to close June 16, 2017.
